Most Rev. James David, M.Div
Rev. James David James F. (Jim) David holds a Master of Divinity Degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. Jim is a senior partner at Evensong Ministries, LLC. He has been a co-pastor of St. Mary of Magdala Church, and a Chaplain for the Harwich Police Department.
Jim is a commissioned member of the Federation of Christian Ministries and a member of Spiritual Directors International. Jim has served as a spiritual director and retreat director and presenter for over thirty five years. He has conducted retreats based on the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises, including an introduction to Ignatian Spiritual Retreats. He has also used a Franciscan approach to silent retreat, as well as a variety of meditation based retreats. He is certified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and has conducted workshops throughout the northeast, including presentations on Personality Type and Prayer.
Ordained in the Roman Catholic Tradition in 1985, Jim has also served as a theology instructor, and as a pastor. He resigned from the Roman Catholic clerical order in 1993 but continued his ministry as a Catholic priest in the Ecumenical Catholic Church. He was consecrated as a bishop in 2010 and serves as the Bishop of the Ecumenical Catholic Diocese of New England.
Jim's publications include Peter's Redemption, a novel about change in the church of the 21st Century, Midnight Mysteries, a collection of poems on the Incarnation and Papal Expectations - A Novel (2013). During his time on Cape Cod, Jim i was a regular contributor to the Matters of Faith Column in the Cape Cod Times.
Jim now offers retreats and spiritual direction in the So. New Hampshire area, and is a retreat contributor at Rolling Ridge Retreat Center in No. Andover, MA.
